lots of love this mother’s day for everyone who has a complex relationship with their mom, everyone who has ceased communication with their mom for reasons of self-preservation, and every person whose mom is deceased

Wow I needed this. Thank you.

Welcome to Tumblr: where we’ll actually ship sinking ships.

^REBLOGED JUST FOR THAT COMMENT

Most tragic of the otps
Just look at how they’re being ripped apart
And there’s nothing they or anyone else can do to stop it
It’s heartbreaking

That iceberg was such a cockblock.

It all happened so fast. One second we were together, happy as ever, gliding over the water without a care in the world. The next we were being ripped apart, probably never to see each other again.
As the iceberg tore threw me I knew this would be the end; of the passengers, mine, and the love of my life…my other half’s, lives.
“Anic!” I called out, as our boards slowly fell apart, tearing us away from each other one by one.
“Yes, Tit,” she cried, desperately. I could hear in her voice that she was trying to be strong, but just as we were as a whole, she was crumbling herself. I felt myself being sucked into the water and I knew these would be our last words.
“I love you,” I whispered.
She couldn’t hear me over the screams and called out, asking me what I had said. But it was too late. I was going under.

I lost it at, “Yes, Tit.”

This machine allows anyone to work for minimum wage for as long as they like. Turning the crank on the side releases one penny every 4.97 seconds, for a total of $7.25 per hour. This corresponds to minimum wage for a person in New York. This piece is brilliant on multiple levels, particularly as social commentary. Without a doubt, most people who started operating the machine for fun would quickly grow disheartened and stop when realizing just how little they’re earning by turning this mindless crank. A person would then conceivably realize that this is what nearly two million people in the United States do every day…at much harder jobs than turning a crank. This turns the piece into a simple, yet effective argument for raising the minimum wage.

god damn

Luckily, in Wisconsin, I get paid $7.25/hr but in some states, the minimum wage is drastically lower. It’s no surprise some areas have higher rates of crime as people must turn to illegal activity to simply survive.

In my T.A.R.D.I.S
Posted 3 weeks ago / 1 note #My TARDIS

There would be one room reserved as a greenhouse. In there is where I would place all the interesting and exotic plants I’d find on other planets. There would be bluebells that chimed, Chinese lanterns that glowed, and snapdragons that would actually snap at you. Weeping willows would weep, and carpet grass would be like actual carpet. There would be extinct species of flora from Earth, Mars, and every other planet out there. There would be plants not yet evolved or created. And if I ever got frustrated with the state of the Universe I would go inside that room, and just sit enjoying the beauty of things so I could become calm again.
